Agriculture contributes around 0.5% to the United Kingdom’s economy. It provides half of the food we eat, employs almost half a million people and is a key part of the food and drink sector.

Agricultural waste disposal takes care of ‘waste from premises used for agriculture within the meaning of the Agriculture Act 1947, the Agriculture (Scotland) Act 1948 or the Agriculture Act (Northern Ireland) 1949'.
